Briefing journalists on the command’s headquarters in Abakiliki, the Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), SP Chris Anyanwu, on Tuesday mentioned the hoodlums have been trailed to their hideout by joint safety efforts comprised of the police, army, and the Division of State Service (DSS).
He mentioned the raid adopted an assault on a police patrol workforce on Monday throughout which an officer was killed.
Anyanwu mentioned the safety operatives recovered three AK 49 rifles, 147 rounds of AR ammunition, and 38 rounds of AK 47 ammunition, amongst different gadgets.
He revealed that the command equally arrested two infamous native docs; Itumo Edeh Omukwor, 63, and Irem Ogbeji Nwaduma, 50, from Okpera Osege in Ndufu Echara Ikwo LGA of the state.
The spokesperson of the command charged the general public to help the police with related info on the actions of the criminals.
“Members of the general public are hereby implored to help the Police with related details about the actions of the criminals and their hideouts and be assured of utmost safety of their identities”, he said.
