Why did Matt Sullivan die? Was it a suicide? Found in McAlpine Park Is A Missing Charlotte Man

Matt Sullivan, who was last seen in southeast Charlotte’s McAlpine Creek Park, was discovered dead there, according to Charlotte-Mecklenburg police.

According to Charlotte-Mecklenburg police, Sullivan went to McAlpine Creek Park on Monroe Road at 1:45 p.m. on Friday after telling his family about his plans. He promised to return in a few hours, but his family never heard from him again.

Off Monroe Road and Independence Boulevard in east Charlotte is a sizable park and greenway area called McAlpine Creek Park. It is home to a lake, a fishing pier, soccer fields, and a dog park in addition to hiking and bike routes.

Is Matt Sullivan’s Death Related to Suicide?

The statement from Matt Sullivan’s family states that “He cherished his Friday afternoon strolls, and he frequently visited McAlpine Creek. He has a reputation for venturing off the beaten road and is a man who is constantly seeking out new experiences.” According to investigators, there are no indications of criminal activity, and they are not seeking for any suspects.

Because the exact cause of death has not been established, we cannot declare that he committed suicide.

When Sullivan didn’t arrive home on Friday, the paper claims, the park was investigated, and his car was found at the trailhead. Both his phone and wallet were found, and both were looked into.

In a document shared on social media on the family’s behalf, friends and family claimed that over 100 volunteers and expert teams conducted a thorough search on Saturday.
