The Division of State Providers (DSS) has denied arresting President of Ijaw Youth Council, Comrade Peter Timothy Igbifa.

That is coming after it was reported that masked males seized Igbifa on Tuesday Could 25. Eyewitnesses mentioned he was whisked away at about 8:45 am on the Port Harcourt Worldwide Airport highway en route Abuja for a gathering.

Confirming the incident to journalists in Port Harcourt, Igbifa’s driver, Knowledge Emmanson mentioned the IYC President was whisked away at gunpoint including that a few of the abductors have been masked and wielded weapons related to secret police officers.

Nonetheless DSS spokesperson, Dr Peter Afunanya in a WhatsApp message on Tuesday Could 25, mentioned:

“The DSS has nothing to do with the alleged arrest or whisking away of President of Ijaw Youth Council, Comrade Peter Timothy Igbifa, by suspected masked males.”

Igbifa was billed to guide a protest in Abuja following the expiration of a one-week ultimatum his group issued to the FG to reconstitute the board of the Niger Delta Improvement Fee (NDDC).
