Civic advocacy group, Human Rights Writers Affiliation Of Nigeria, has tackled the Division of State Providers and the Nigerian Military over the arrest and detention of veteran Nollywood actor, Chiwetalu Agu.

Troopers on Thursday had arrested the actor round Higher Iweka bridge in Onitsha for sporting an outfit with Biafra inscriptions.
The Military in an announcement had stated that the actor was arrested “whereas inciting members of the general public and asking for help for the proscribed Indigenous Folks of Biafra,” including that the actor was “wearing a really well-known apparel of the proscribed group”.
In a viral video, Agu had denied the allegations, saying his apparel was a civil gown with a picture of a rising solar and never Biafra.
The navy later launched the actor on Friday and handed him over the DSS.
DSS Spokesman, Peter Afunanya, who confirmed that Agu is within the custody of the key police, stated the legislation would take its full course.
