Ebonyi: Police reveal identity of man who died in Afikpo bomb explosion

The Ebonyi State Police Command has stated that the person killed in an explosion on Tuesday in Afikpo, Ebonyi State is a policeman and never a suicide bomber as claimed by many.

Recall that an explosion which occurred reverse Amizi Amangbala Major Faculty in Afikpo North threw the world into panic as passersby ran for security.

Following the event, the Spokesperson of the Police in Ebonyi state, Loveth Odah in a press release launched whereas giving an replace on the incident, stated the sufferer of the blast is a Cell Police Officer.

She stated the deceased, Mr Idi Aminu, reportedly died because of an unintended hand grenade explosion.

Odah, who stated the police officer was an operative of MOPOL 32, mistakenly hit the lead of his grenade which was hanging on his waist.

“He mistakenly hit the lead of his grenade which was hanging on his waist together with his elbow ensuing within the lethal explosion.

“His stays have been deposited within the mortuary,” she stated.
