Anita Pointer Husband: Was Anita Pointer Married?: Anita Pointer, officially known as Anita Marie Pointer was born on January 23, 1948, in Oakland, California, United States to Sarah Elizabeth and Reverend Elton Pointer.

She’s an American singer and songwriter who was best known as a founding member of the vocal group the Pointer Sisters. Anita Pointer and her sisters (Pointer Sisters) had commercial success in the 1970s and ’80s.

In 1974, Anita’s songwriting talent helped the group make music history when their single, ‘Fairytale’ became a hit on the country music charts and enabled The Pointer Sisters to become the first black female group to perform at the Grand Ole Opry.

‘Fairytale’ won the group its first Grammy Award for Best Country Performance by a Duo or Group, and a Grammy Nomination for Best Country Song of the year in 1975. Anita Pointer released several songs and has been consistent throughout her entire career.

Anita Pointer died at her home in Los Angeles on Saturday, December 31, 2022, at the age of 74. Her cause of death was cancer

Anita Pointer married on 2 different occasions. In December 1965, at age 17, Pointer married David Harper. They divorced in 1966.

After their split, Anita Pointer got married to Richard Gonzalez. Sources state that Pointer and Gonzalez later divorced. Other sources also stated that Richard Gonzalez is the surviving widower of the late actress. They were married in 1981 until death separated them.
