Abacha remains our hero

Bayelsa Governor Douye Diri has stated that former navy dictator, Sani Abacha, stays a hero to the folks of the state following his choice to create the state 25 years in the past on October 1, 1996.

 

He acknowledged this throughout a thanksgiving service on Nigeria’s 61st independence and Bayelsa twenty fifth anniversary on the King of Glory Chapel in Authorities Home, Yenagoa.

In eulogizing Abacha, the Governor stated;

“Let me use this medium to thank one man. He is probably not in style in Nigeria however to me and all of us Bayelsans, we see him as a terrific man, a hero. The person who by the stroke of the pen signed the creation of Bayelsa State. I’m speaking about the late Common Sani Abacha.

We acknowledge him as a state and other people. By his singular assent, he created this state with simply eight native authorities areas, which was lower than the constitutional necessities.”
