Update: EFCC releases former Abia State Governor Theodore Orji on bail after questioning over N48b security votes

The Financial and Monetary Crimes Fee has launched former governor of Abia State, Sen. Theodore Orji after being detained by operatives of the anti-corruption company.

The Senator was arrested with son Chinedu over alleged misappropriation of N2billion Ecological Fund and conversion of Positive-P funds whereas the previous governor was in workplace between 2007 and 2015. They have been intercepted on the Nnamdi Azikiwe Worldwide Airport on Thursday August 19.

In response to sources conversant in the case, Mr Orji was granted an administrative bail after dealing with hours of interrogation on the EFCC headquarters in Abuja at about 9 p.m. on Thursday.

The lawmaker, at the moment representing Abia Central Senatorial District on the Senate was requested to return to the EFCC workplace for additional interrogation on Friday.
