Susan Sarandon Apologizes for Tweet About NYPD Officer’s Funeral – NY Morning Star














Susan Sarandon has apologized for her controversial feedback a couple of NYPD officer’s funeral, following a backlash.

“I deeply remorse the meme I lately shared on Twitter that included a photograph of Officer Jason Rivera’s funeral,” Sarandon wrote on Feb. 4. “I reacted shortly to the image with out connecting it to a police funeral and I notice now how insensitive and deeply disrespectful it was to make that time at the moment.”  

The Monarch star continued, “I sincerely apologize to the household of Officers Rivera and [Wilbert] Mora for inflicting extra ache throughout their time of grieving.” 

In her now-deleted tweet, Sarandon had shared a publish from journalist Danny Haiphong that included a photograph of 1000’s of cops lined down Manhattan’s fifth Avenue in honor of Rivera, who was shot and killed whereas responding to a home dispute name. He had captioned the pic, “I’m gonna inform my youngsters that is what fascism appears like.”
