PARIS (Reuters) -Police mentioned they stopped 500 automobiles that have been making an attempt to get into Paris on Saturday in a ‘freedom convoy’ protest in opposition to COVID-19 restrictions.

The automobiles have been intercepted at three entry factors into the French capital and greater than 150 tickets have been handed out, police mentioned on Twitter.

Police have mobilised hundreds of officers, arrange checkpoints and deployed armoured personnel carriers and water cannon vans in preparation for the protests.

Impressed by horn-blaring “Freedom Convoy” demonstrations in Canada, the motorists – from quite a few cities throughout France – have been searching for to defy a police order to not enter the town.
