Phone Network Shut Down

Telecommunication providers have been shut down in Katsina State.
A minimum of 13 Native Authorities Areas are affected by the event which will not be unconnected with the continuing safety operations towards bandits within the North West.

The affected LGAs are Sabuwa, Faskari, Dandume, Batsari, Danmusa, Kankara, Jibia, Safana, Dutsin-Ma and Kurfi which might be on the fringes of the Ruggu forest the place a lot of the bandits are hiding.

The opposite three embrace Funtua, Bakori and Malumfashi.

This comes a number of days after the Nationwide Communications Fee (NCC) denied plan to close down telecom websites in Katsina.

Recall that the NCC had refuted a trending social media story claiming that the fee had ordered telecom service suppliers to close down their websites in Katsina.

In a press release, Director Normal (Media), Abdu Labaran Malumfashi, had mentioned the Govt Vice Chaiman/CEO of NCC, Professor Umar D. Danbatta, had spoken to the the state authorities on the matter the place he mentioned the story was false.

The NCC VC/CEO added that the purported letter trending within the social media was a cloned model of the one despatched to Zamfara State, the place there’s a complete shutdown of telecom websites.

NCC had issued a directive to telecom operators to close down their providers within the neighbouring Zamfara State as from September 3, to allow safety companies perform required operations in relation to the pervasive safety challenges.
