The reelected Governor of Edo State, Godwin Obaseki, on Monday, stated the lions and tigers of the state are caged.

Obaseki stated his victory on the Saturday’s governorship election was an indication that the tigers and due to this fact the lions in Edo State politics are completely caged.




He acknowledged this whereas addressing supporters of the Peoples Democratic Celebration , PDP, at Kings Sq. in Benin Metropolis, the capital .

He stated: “The message of Saturday’s governorship election is that I ought to go and work for Edo folks as a result of Edo folks have spoken loud and clear.

“You will have helped me caged the lions and tigers inside the State, you may by no means see them once more in Edo as a result of they’re beat the zoo now the place they belong.”

Obaseki had defeated his closest rival, Osagie Ize-Iyamu of the All Progressives Congress, APC, after polling 307,955 votes.

Ize-Iyamu, nevertheless, garnered 223,619.
