Olympics-Snowboarding-Japan’s Ayumu Hirano soars to halfpipe gold, White misses podium

ZHANGJIAKOU, China (Reuters) – Ayumu Hirano of Japan gained gold on the males’s snowboard halfpipe closing on Friday on the Beijing Video games, whereas American three-time gold medallist Shaun White missed the rostrum in his fifth and closing Olympics.
