NLC set for nationwide protest despite FG’s suspension of petrol subsidy removal

Nigeria Labour Congress, NLC has mentioned it is going to proceed with its deliberate nationwide protest on Thursday regardless of the announcement by the Federal Authorities that it has suspended the plan to take away the gas subsidy.

Forward of the mass rally, the NLC has written to the 36 state governors to demand the withdrawal of the elimination of the gas subsidy scheduled for June.

The NLC argued that the perennial hike within the pump worth of petrol and different refined petroleum merchandise was a switch of presidency failure and lack of ability to successfully govern the nation.

However the Minister of Finance, Price range and Nationwide Planning, Zainab Ahmed; and the Minister of State Petroleum Sources, Timipre Sylva; on the Nationwide Meeting on Monday mentioned the Federal Authorities had suspended the plan to take away gas subsidy.
