The Indigenous Folks of Biafra (IPOB) has banned the rearing and consumption of cows within the South-East area.

IPOB Head of Directorate of State (DOS), Mazi Chika Edoziem, disclosed this in a press release on Saturday.

Edoziem, nonetheless, mentioned the ban would take full impact in six months.

He added that solely native breed would henceforth “be consumed and used for all ceremonies in Biafraland.”

In line with him, “from that date, no extra Fulani cows shall be allowed into Biafraland for any purpose, not for burials, title taking, weddings, and so on.”

He mentioned the ban adopted fixed assaults on their folks by suspected Fulani herdsmen, leading to killing, raping of their girls and different types of assaults.

This comes after the 17 Southern governors led by Rotimi Akeredolu of Ondo state met in Lagos on July 5, 2021, and “set a timeline for the promulgation of the anti-open grazing regulation in all member states”.
