I Make Fuji More Presentable – Asake

Afropop singer, Ahmed ‘Asake‘ Ololade has revealed that the Fuji genre of music influences his sound.

The YBNL signee made this disclosure in an interview with The NATIVE magazine on the uniqueness of his music.

 

According to the ‘Palazzo’ singer, he only listens to Fuji, Gospel, Olamide and his own music.

“Omo, me I be Fuji artist o,” he said. Continuing, the 27-year-old artist said, “I use actual music the same way Fuji artists do their thing. I’m just making my own more presentable to everybody. That’s where I’m from, I no be from rich family, but me I love the foreign life so my own (music) has to be modern.

“My sound is my sound. That makes it my sound, because you can’t understand it. The moment I understand it, that means it’s not my sound, so I have to keep dipping into my sound.”

On how he’s coping with fame, Asake said it is stressful.

“I won’t lie it’s been very stressful. But it’s nice now, and it’s what I’ve been praying for. I’m just finding my way around it and I dey try live my life. I think it has to be stressful, that’s the fun of it, so you know you’re working. Sometimes sha, you gats do like say you tire, make them no talk say you be machine.”
