Even if your cooking skills are limited to microwaving taquitos and peeling the plastic off a pre-made guacamole jar, chances are you’ve heard of Chef Gordon Ramsay.

He’s one of the most well-known celebrity chefs in the world, with a slew of awards to his name. He is, for example, the first Scottish chef to receive three Michelin stars.

How many Michelin stars did Gordon Ramsay lose?

Gordon had no intention of becoming a chef. His hopes of becoming a professional soccer player were crushed when he sustained an injury.

That’s when he chose to pursue a career in hotel management, but he was rapidly drawn into the world of fine dining.

He sought out the guidance of renowned chefs such as Marco Pierre White, Guy Savoy, and Albert Roux, and studied under them.

Gordon’s dedication paid off: after years of perfecting his recipes, he received two Michelin stars for Aubergine in London in just three years as the restaurant’s head chef.

Chef Gordon Ramsay has a total of 16 Michelin stars as of this writing, however, he hasn’t been able to keep them all.
