How long was Randy Savage married to Lynn?

A recent A&E Biography focused on Randy Savage’s legacy, but it appears that they didn’t get everything straight.

Lanny Poffo, Savage’s brother, has come out to dispel some of the myths surrounding the documentary.

According to Poffo, Savage married Barbara Lynn Payne in May 2010. The documentary stated that Lynn was Savage’s “high school sweetheart,” however this does not match the timing of events.

Poffo went on to explore another subject in the Biography, Savage’s first marriage, in an essay for Pro Wrestling Stories.

Poffo went on to explain how the documentary’s story didn’t match up with reality.

This was untrue. Randy couldn’t have met his sweetheart in a Chattanooga suburb after graduating from high school in Downers Grove, Illinois. That’s something even the Macho Man can’t do!

Lynn attended Ringling College of Art and Design in Sarasota, Florida after graduating from high school in South Pittsburg, Tennessee.

Randy was playing baseball in the St. Louis Cardinals organization’s rookie league in Sarasota at the time, while Lynn was learning to be an artist. This was the first time they met.
