Dame Deborah Anne James DBE was born on October 1, 1981, in London, United Kingdom. His parents are Heather James and Alistair James. Deborah was schooled at Salesian School, Chertsey.

Deborah James proceeded to study economics at the University of Exeter. She has served as a deputy headteacher at Salesian School, Chertsey, and has also worked at the Matthew Arnold School in Staines-upon-Thames.
