Gunmen attack Idemili North local government secretariat and magistrate court, set buildings on fire
Unknown gunmen have burnt down the Idemili North Local Government secretariat in Ogidi and a Magistrate Court in the area.
The gunmen attacked the government institutions at about 2am today, May 16. The assailants burnt all files, and properties in the secretariat, including the secretariat building and cars.
Confirming the incident to LIB, the spokesperson of the state police command, Tochukwu Ikenga, said no life was lost in the incident.
“This incident happened at about 2am this morning. We were able to contain the situation. The Secretariat official vehicles were burnt and some other buildings in the secretariat which includes the EEDC and magistrate building were burnt. No life was lost” he said
