Gunmen abduct couple one week to their wedding in Ekiti

Unknown gunmen have kidnapped a pair planning to get married subsequent week in ekiti state.

The couple had come into the state capital to buy some gadgets for his or her wedding ceremony and have been returning to their base after they have been kidnapped alongside Ilasa-Ekiti-Ayebode Highway, in Ekiti East Native Authorities Space on Sunday, September 19.

Confirming the incident, the spokesperson of the state police command, ASP Sunday Abutu, mentioned;

“Instantly we obtained the report, the Police Commissioner, Babatunde Mobayo, mobilised our males and officers to the encircling forests. As I communicate, our males are working together with “Amotekun’’ Corps, native hunters and Vigilance teams, combing the forests to free the victims’’

ASP Abutu mentioned 4 individuals have been arrested in reference to the incident and have been detained on the police headquarters in Ado-Ekiti and could be arraigned as quickly as investigations have been concluded.

Members of the family of the victims mentioned that the abductors had contacted the household and demanded N5 million ransom to secure their freedom.
