Governor Wike Speaks on Who Financed Obaseki’s R-eelection

Rivers Governor Nyesom Wike has said that he didn’t bankroll the reelection of Governor Godwin Obaseki of Edo State.

Obaseki was re-elected on the platform of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) last Saturday after dumping of the All Progressives Congress, APC, before the election.

The Rivers State Governor, who spoke on Channel Television’s Sunrise Daily on Friday, was the chairman of the PDP Campaign Council for the election.

He acknowledged that as a sitting Governor, Obsseki had enough funds for his election.

Wike is believed to possess supported Obaseki with finances, but he said: “What resources could I even have deployed?

“He may be a sitting governor. What resources am i able to give him that he doesn’t have?”
