Ghanaian Elections: Former President John Mahama In The Lead

The results released by the Ghana Electoral Commission show that former President John Dramani Mahama of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) is in the lead.
The commission has so far released the results of seven provincial elections, with John Mahama receiving 199, 450 votes.

Incumbent Nana Akufo-Addo of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) received 1,500,310 votes.
As of Wednesday morning, the results of the seven provincial elections have been announced as follows:

Upper West: NPP: 121,230 – NDC: 238,972
North East: NPP: 122,742 – NDC: 112,306
East Bono: NPP: 292, 604 – NDC: 203,329
Oti: NPP: 103,865 – NDC: 181,021
Voltage: NPP: 100,481 – NDC: 606,508
Ahafo: NPP: 145,584 – NDC: 116,485
Central: NPP: 613,804 – NDC: 538,829
Naija News recalls that an estimated 17 million Ghanaian participated in the presidential and parliamentary elections on Monday.

Voting took place in more than 38,000 polling stations in 16 regions of Ghana.
