Former SGF, Anyim Pius Anyim ‘in EFCC custody’ over alleged N780m fraud
Former Secretary to the Authorities of the Federation (SGF), Anyim Pius Anyim was on Sunday October 24, grilled by the Financial and Monetary Crimes Fee (EFCC).
Whereas there isn’t any official assertion but on why Anyim was grilled by the anti-graft company, The Nation reported that it’s related to the continued probe of a former Aviation Minister, Senator Stella Oduah.
It was alleged that N780 million which was allotted to a rehabilitation undertaking within the ministry beneath Oduah was allegedly traced to an organization linked to Anyim, a one-time president of the Senate.
A supply advised the publication;
“The EFCC on Sunday (yesterday) commenced the interrogation of a former Senate President, Senator Anyim Pius Anyim, in a case on public funds.
“Anyim arrived on the headquarters of the anti-graft company in Jabi, Abuja, at about 3pm.
“The interrogation is tied to suspected cash laundering involving former Aviation Minister and serving senator Senator Stella Oduah.”
