Fate of Belarusian skier banned over political views in hands of ski body, IOC says

BEIJING (Reuters) – The Worldwide Olympic Committee (IOC) stated on Thursday it was as much as the Worldwide Ski Federation (FIS) to resolve whether or not to take motion within the case of a Belarusian cross-country skier who was barred from competitors over what her household stated had been its political opinions.

A number of Belarusian athletes have been jailed or kicked off nationwide groups for voicing opposition views and becoming a member of protests that erupted within the wake of the 2020 election.
