The English Premier League (EPL) enters its fourteenth day this weekend with the expectation of more drama.

PRESSINFORMAT takes a look at some of the talking points as the week fourteen Premier League matches are set to begin on Saturday afternoon and end on Sunday evening.

Unai Emery’s return to Premier League:

Emery was appointed as Aston Villa’s new manager earlier this week.

The 50-year-old, who had a spell as Arsenal manager from 2018 to 2019, replaces Steven Gerrard, who was sacked last week.

Emery will begin his new role on November 1 after his work permit formalities are completed.

His first match in charge of Aston Villa will be at home against Manchester United on Sunday, November 6.

Brighton vs Chelsea:

This is one of the big Premier League matches that will take place this weekend.

Brighton will host Chelsea at the Falmer Stadium on Saturday.

Chelsea coach, Graham Potter, will face his former side Brighton as he eyes being the first English manager of the Blues to be unbeaten in his first ten games across all competitions.

The west London club have only dropped four points in the Premier League since Potter took over from Thomas Tuchel a few weeks ago.

The last time Chelsea played Brighton at the Falmer Stadium ended in a 1-1 draw.

Brighton has been winless in the last five Premier League games since beating Leicester City 5-2 in September.

The Seagulls are in the 9th position on the log with 15 points from 11 games, while Chelsea sits in the 5th position with 21 points from the same number of games.

The kick-off time for the match is 3 pm.

Ronaldo’s return from one-match ban:

Ronaldo will hope to feature for Manchester United when they host West Ham United on Sunday evening at Old Trafford.

The Portugal captain was recently banned from Man United’s first-team squad after his behaviour in the team’s Premier League victory over Tottenham Hotspur last week.

The 37-year-old was left out of the Man United squad that drew 1-1 with Chelsea last Sunday.

The former Real Madrid and Juventus forward, however, featured in Man United’s Europa League 3-0 win against Sheriff, where he scored the third goal of the encounter.

Ronaldo will now hope to feature for Man United when they host West Ham at home this weekend.

Antony’s showboating:
Antony was heavily criticized for showboating during Man United’s Europa League 3-0 win over FC Sheriff on Thursday evening.

When the score was at 0-0, Antony attempted to excite the Man United’s fans with his trademark pirouette, although the Brazilian winger went on to overhit a pass which went out of play.

Antony was slammed by the club’s former players Paul Scholes and Robbie Savage, who described the move as ’embarrassing’ during his match commentary.

But Antony had on Friday insisted that he would not stop doing his skills despite the criticism he suffered.

Antony posted a picture of the incident on his Instagram story with the message: “We are known for our art and I will not stop doing what has brought me to where I am!”

Will Man United manager, Erik ten Hag, feature Antony in their next match against West Ham United on Sunday after he substituted him at half-time against Sheriff?

Arsenal vs Nottingham Forest:
Arsenal will host Nottingham Forest in a Premier League tie at the Emirates Stadium on Sunday.

Mikel Arteta’s side will be hoping to bounce back from their latest 2-0 defeat against PSV Eindhoven in the Europa League on Thursday.

The Gunners are currently on top of the Premier League table with 28 points from 11 games, while Nottingham Forest head to the game after beating Liverpool 1-0, thanks to Taiwo Awoniyi’s goal.

Nottingham Forest currently sits in the 20th position on the log with 9 points from 12 games.

The kick-off time for the match is 3 pm.
