Two Normans, Gaëlle 27 years previous, and Marie 17 years previous, in love with bicycles since their childhood. They determined to go on a motorcycle journey and join Normandy to Brittany in 5 days, or about 300 km, with a purpose to expertise an unimaginable journey between cousins.

Day 1: Troarn – Pont d’Ouilly: 50 km

Issue: Simple

Course Might-sur-Orne (19.6 km) to affix the Vélo Francette greenway.

It’s a pretty huge monitor alongside the banks of the Orne. Feeling of pedaling in the midst of a inexperienced tunnel. Lunch break in Thury-Harcourt, to regain energy to face the final 30 km. Arrived at Clécy, we department off to take a break within the coronary heart of the Swiss Normandy, toes within the water, with kayaks and pedal boats. Clécy, a must-see place within the space. Cross the Clécy viaduct, a splendid view of the valley, the Orne, the rocks, the canoes, the waterfalls, a small memento picture on the best way. One kilometer after the tip of the paved greenway. The remaining will probably be on a shared highway. The Suisse Normande and its unevenness, calves, and thighs warmth up. Lastly arrived in Pont-d’Ouilly. First intense and nice day, evening’s relaxation to maneuver on to the second day.

Day 2: Pont d’Ouilly – Domfront: 44 km

Issue: Medium

A good looking stage with a variety of elevation: over 44 km, we climbed round 15 km of hills to Flers! We then joined the greenway, which was very nice. It runs alongside meadows, forests, and streams. The route is shaded from Flers to Domfront.

Day 3: Domfront – Ducey: 53 km

Issue: Newbie

This stage was mainly on the inexperienced lane. The problem of the day was the rain and the wind, however happily for us, the greenway was very wooded, we have been just a little sheltered! The view of the salt meadows of Mont Saint-Michel when arriving at Ducey was significantly good.

Day 4: Cancale – Erquy: 85 km

Issue: Superior

Leaving from Cancale, we stopped at Port-Picain, a powerful little cove, turquoise water, and a view of Mont Saint-Michel. Course St-Malo, following the EuroVelo 4 route. The drawback of this stage is that it’s important to make a 20 km detour to keep away from the Rance dam, which is just too harmful on a motorcycle. Alternating between roads, paths, and greenways, the EuroVelo 4 route could be very nicely marked. We additionally met a variety of cyclists!

Day 5: Tréguier – Plestin les Grèves: 52 km

Issue: Intermediate

A final fairly bodily stage which marks the tip of our journey! Numerous elevation, we cycled on the paths, the sand, or on the highway. With practically 300 km coated, I’m pleased to have found fabulous landscapes and to have shared this expertise with my cousin.
