Chris Hipkins Parents: Who Are Chris Hipkins Parents?: Chris Hipkins, officially known as Christopher John Hipkins is a New Zealand politician born on September 5, 1978, in Wellington, New Zealand.

Since his inception into mainstream politics, he has served as the Member of Parliament for Remutaka since 2008. Chris became a prominent figure during the fight against COVID-19 when he served as Minister of Health from July to November 2020.

He also became Minister for COVID-19 Response from November 2020 to June 2022. Chris Hipkins as a member of the Labour Party currently serves as Minister of Education, Minister of Police, Minister for the Public Service, and Leader of the House.

On Friday, January 20, 2023, Chris Hipkins made major headlines when he bid to replace Jacinda Ardern who resigned as the prime minister of New Zealand in January 2023.

Speaking to reporters in the capital of Wellington, he (Chris Hipkins) said he aims to reach a consensus about who is ‘best to lead the Labour party, and therefore, New Zealand forward.’

“I am absolutely humbled and honored,” he said, then added, “there is still a bit to go in this process. There is still a meeting tomorrow and a vote, and I don’t want to get too far ahead of that.”

Chris Hipkins is currently the leader of the Labour Party and is set to succeed Jacinda Ardern as the 41st Prime Prime Minister of New Zealand by Tuesday, February 7, 2023.
