California couple, dog rescued from Sierra cabin after being snowed in for nearly 2 months

DOWNIEVILLE, Calif. — Two individuals and their canine who had been snowed of their cabin within the Sierra Nevada mountains for 2 months had been airlifted by a California Freeway Patrol helicopter after they began operating low on meals, officers stated.

Officer Jared Boothe of the CHP Valley Division, Air Operations stated Friday the cabin was snowed in on December 6 and that the pair known as for assist Tuesday. The Sierra County Sheriff’s Workplace requested help from a CHP helicopter to entry the distant location.

The pair tried to go away by automotive however downed bushes and snow on the street blocked them, Boothe stated.

Boothe stated the helicopter landed close to the cabin whereas very sturdy winds had been blowing. The pair and their canine then received on the chopper and had been flown to a touchdown zone.
