BREAKING: Senator Lola Ashiru has been appointed as the new Deputy Majority Leader

The All Progressives Congress (APC) Senator representing Kwara South, Lola Ashiru, has been appointed as the new Deputy Majority Leader.

Also, the Senator representing Ebonyi North Senatorial District, Nwebonyi Peter Onyeka has also been appointed as the new Deputy Chief Whip of the Senate by the upper legislative chamber.

Senator Ashiru replaces Senator David Umahi, who quit the Senate to pick up a ministerial appointment, while Senator Onyeka, who is also an APC member, replaces Ashiru, who was formerly the Deputy Chief Whip.

Senate President Godswill Akpabio announced the new appointments during plenary on Wednesday.
