Boko Haram Invades Damboa In Borno, Many Feared Dead, Hundreds Flee To Sambisa
Suspected armed members of Boko Haram terrorists have invaded the Council headquarters of Damboa in Borno state capturing sporadically as they engaged troops places.
Damboa is about an 85km drive from Maiduguri the state capital situated centre of the sambisa forests within the southern Borno Senatorial District.
As a result of closing of the Maiduguri-Damboa-Biu 185km street, the resilient individuals residing within the Council space must spend greater than 450km drive earlier than accessing Damboa and Maiduguri.
Sources informed our Vanguard that the insurgents stormed the neighborhood at about 5:30 pm, stressing that, many had been feared lifeless and injured together with the terrorists, with properties set ablaze on the time of submitting this report.
The District Head of Damboa, Zanna Lawan Maina who spoke to our Correspondent in Maiduguri, confirmed the Boko Haram invasion into Damboa, however insisted that he couldn’t have particulars but, as the one telecommunication service (Airtel) was not clear sufficient for accessing communication with residents.
“Sure some armed Boko Haram terrorists invaded Damboa this night, I’m not within the city as I’m away for an official engagement.
“Sadly, we couldn’t get entry to the one current telecommunication service offered by Airtel to establish the situation as of the time of the incident”. Maina lamented
