Ariana Debose is an American actress, dancer, and singer, born on January 25, 1991, in Wilmington, North Carolina, United States.

She was born to a Puerto Rican father and a White mother, Gina DeBose, who is an 8th grade teacher.
Debose is known for her stage performances and screen appearances. She is well known for the comedy series Schmigadoon! (2021), as well as The Prom (2020), and West Side Stories (2021)

She is an Oscar award winner, a British Academy Film Award winner and a Golden Globe Award recipient.

Debose identifies as queer.

DeBose is the girlfriend of costume designer and professor Sue Makkoo.

The duo met on the set of Summer: The Donna Summer Musical in 2017.

Before Sue Makko, DeBose had dated theater props master Jill Johnson.

DeBose is the first queer woman of colour and the first Afro-Latina to receive an Oscar nomination.
