A True Spokesman: Buhari, Osinbajo Mourns Yinka Odumakin

President Muhammadu Buhari has with the family, friends and acquaintances of Yinka Odumakin, spokesman of Yoruba socio-political group, Afenifere.

The Special Adviser, Media and Publicity to the President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria in a statement, Femi Adesina, issued a commiserated statement on his behalf on Saturday. Buhari recalled that Odumakin was his spokesman in 2011 when he ran for President on the platform of the defunct Congress for Progressive Change (CPC).

President Buhari, who described Odumakin as dutiful, and a person of conviction, voiced sorrow at his demise, when he had a lot more to contribute to society and the nation at large.

The President prayed God to grant repose to the soul of the departed activist, and comfort all those who mourn him.

In same vein, Vice President Yemi Osinbajo has expressed shock over what he described “the sad news” of the death of Mr Odumakin”.

Odumakin recovered from COVID-19 a week to his death, says wife

The Vice-President, in a statement signed by his spokesman Laolu Akande, also condoled with his wife, family and associates.

Prof. Osinbajo further prayed that the Lord will comfort the family, and bless his memory always.
