7-Year-Old Boy Charged With Rape In New York

Reports claims an unidentified 7-years-old boy has been charged with a third-degree rape felony by the New York State Police.

According to WWNYTV, the police has released the boy who was taken into custody and has begin their investigations into the matter.

With little details known, a police source has revealed the initial sex offense complaint was made the day before Thanksgiving of last year and the case is said to be held at a Family court.

A State attorney who handles youth defense cases talking about the incident to the news network described the case as ‘absurd’. He said the prosecutors better prove their case beyond reasonable doubt that indeed the boy committed the act.

Instinctually, it shouldn’t happen that a 7-year-old – I don’t think you even could really realize what you’re doing at 7 years old. So I think it’s absurd to charge a 7-year-old with rape. They’d have to prove he actually physically committed this act, which to me it almost seems to be an impossibility,

With much information withheld by the authorities, it is up to this point not known the age of the victim.
