15 Kidnapped Persons Rescued By Police In Kaduna

Operatives of the Kaduna State Police Command have rescued 15 kidnapped persons.

In addition to the persons rescued, 32 cows were also rescued and this was confirmed by the Command’s Public Relations Officer, ASP Mohammed Jalige in a statement.

According to him, some gunmen suspected to be bandits blocked Buruku Birnin Gwari Road around Unguwan Yako Forest in an attempt to kidnap occupants of two Volkswagen salon cars on April 9.

However, the operatives of the state police command were swift as they responded immediately to the distress call made.

He said;

A swift response by the operatives of the Command forced the marauding bandits to retreat and flee into the forest with bullet wounds, abandoning their victims.

The operatives, however, searched the entire area and successfully rescued 15 victims unhurt.”

He added that the drivers of the vehicles sustained varying degrees of injuries with the remaining victims subsequently reunited with their respective families.

Those who sustained the injuries receiving and responding to treatment.

He also stated that there was another attack on April 8 where the Command received an intelligence report informing them that some bandits were sighted around Dutsin Gaya Village in the Kajuru Local Government Area.

These bandit were said to be moving large herds of cattle. In his submission, he said;

“The Command on getting the information, as usual, mobilized operatives to the area and engaged the bandits in a fierce gun battle which forced them to take to their heels with bullet wounds while the operatives recovered 32 rustled cows.”
