On Friday, the remains of late Yoruba celebrity John Adewuni (popularly known as Tafa Oloyede) was buried in his hometown of Ede, Osun, weeks after his death.

Adewuni, who was 69 years old at the time, died on February 1 at his home in Osogbo.

The presiding pastor, Rev. Gbenga Olorode, remarked at the funeral and thanksgiving ceremony held at Iroyin Ayo Baptist Church in Iseki Akala, Ede, that human lives on earth are very brief.

Olorode preached from Job chapter 14 verses 1-6, saying that every man born of a woman has only a few years to live, and encouraging everyone to set their way right with God while they are still alive.

The late John Adewuni had lived and gone to answer for his acts before God, according to Olorode, who added that those still alive have the chance to rectify their ways.

The people were cautioned by the priest to repent of anything that may cause them to lose their eternal peace with God.
According to NAN, Adewuni’s body was ultimately laid to rest and buried at the Iroyin Ayo Baptist Church cemetery at 3:25 p.m., surrounded by his family and friends.
