American actress and singer, Ariana DeBose delivered the opening number with the names of some of the event’s winners written into mashed-up lyrics. There was huge excitement when the two most unexpected winners came up; that is, Best Actress in Play (O’Connel) and Best New Musical (A Strange Loop).
