Who is Rob Stern from Blown Away on Netflix? The glass artisan is prepared to display his skills in Season 3.

On July 22, 2022, Blown Away will premiere Season 3 on Netflix.

Ten fresh glassblowing hopefuls will fight for a $60,000 cash prize and a position in the artist residence at the Corning Museum of Glass in New York on Blown Away Season 3.

The Blown Away contestants are tasked with coming up with a unique glass design based on a specific theme each week. One design that falls short of the judges’ standards will be eliminated at the end of each week.

 

Rob Stern, a participant on “Blown Away,” has 30 years of expertise.

Rob Stern, 53, who is the most seasoned contender on Blown Away Season 3, has been working with glass for more than three decades and has collaborated with some of the most skilled and well-known glass artists in the world.

Rob was born in Miami, although his mother taught art in Atlanta, where he was raised. His father loved photography and had a job in the film business.

His artwork has been shown all around the world, including in Europe, Asia, and the US.

Rob Stern Art Glass Inc., the Blown Away contestant’s studio, is located in Miami’s Wynwood Arts District. Rob and his team there produce original artworks that are commissioned, displayed, and acquired all over the world.

Education
The Blown Away candidate graduated with a Master’s in Fine Arts from the University of Miami in 2003 after earning a Fine Arts Bachelor’s degree from San Francisco State University in 1989.

He subsequently spent five years working as an apprentice at John Lewis Glass, an industrial casting factory in Oakland, where he received training to become a skilled metal fabricator and glass caster/cold worker.

In 1992, he spent two years as a designer and glass maker at the Czech glass manufacturers Huntig and Ajeto in addition to working as a TA for Czech master Petr Novotny.

From novice to expert
Rob Stern, a contestant on Blown Away Season 3 and a glass artist, worked as a lecturer at the University of Miami from 1998 until 2004. His previous employment at the institution as a studio manager is also mentioned in his resume.

He served as a temporary professor in 2010 at the University of Texas, Arlington.

In addition, the glass artist has worked with numerous other artists throughout the years, including Bob Carlson in 2000, Italo Scanga in 1995, and Libenski/Bryctova in 1997. Along with many other well-known figures in the contemporary studio glass movement, he has also worked with Dale Chihuly, William Morris, Martik Blank, Richard Royal, Richard Jolly, Dante Marioni, and many more.
