Government officials in the U.S. state of Colorado have announced that a gunman killed six people during a birthday party over the weekend because he was not invited.
Police say 28-year-old Teodoro Macias shot his girlfriend Sandra Ibarra-Perez, 28, and five of her relatives before later shooting himself in the head with a handgun.

The incident took place at a mobile home in Colorado Springs early Sunday morning.

The ceremony was planned for three of the girl’s relatives, but three of them lost their lives in the attack.

The attack comes less than two months after a similar attack on a store in Boulder, Colorado, killed 11 people.

Police also said the gunman was suffering from “possession of what he loved”, and was known for his intense jealousy.

Police on Tuesday released the names of five other people who lost their lives in the attack, each with his own age:

Melvin Perez, 30
Joana Cruz, 53 (Melvin’s mother)
Jose Gutierrez Cruz, 21 (Melvin’s cousin)
Mayra Perez, 32 (Melvin’s wife)
Jose Ibarra (Mayra’s brother)

Police confirmed that Macias was not a licensed gun user.
