Video: Soldier arrested for assaulting traffic wardens in Oyo

The Nigerian Military says it has arrested a Lance Corporal allegedly concerned in an assault on two visitors wardens in Oyo State.

A video which went viral confirmed the army officer and a few of his colleagues assaulting the visitors wardens at Adeoye Street by Ring Street, Ibadan in Oyo state on Friday, January 7.

The Director of Military Public Relations, Brigadier Common Onyema Nwachukwu, in a press release, stated the Nigerian Military is working with the state police command to fish out and arrest others who participated within the assault.

The assertion was titled, “One soldier arrested as investigation is ongoing to establish and arrest all culprits within the unlucky assault on visitors wardens in Ibadan.”

It reads; “Following the viral video of an assault on two visitors wardens by males on army uniform suspected to be troopers, the headquarters Nigerian Military ordered speedy investigation to establish and arrest the culprits.

Preliminary investigation has proven that the unlucky incident happened on Friday, January 7, 2022 at Adeoye Street by Ring Street, Ibadan.

The investigation can also be already yielding outcomes as certainly one of assailants, a Lance Corporal of the Nigerian Military, has been taken into custody.
