There are now conflicting reports surrounding Chelsea and Barcelona’s battle to sign Jules Kounde from Sevilla.

Spanish journalist Gerard Romero had posted on Twitter on Saturday morning that: “This morning Barca and Sevilla have reached an AGREEMENT in principle for Jules Kounde.

“The deal is 99% closed, unless there is a cataclysm in the next few hours, the Sevilla centre-back will be a Barça player.”

But sources from Sevilla have described such as false saying that the Kounde to Barcelona rumours: “EVERYTHING that is COMING OUT in the LAST HOURS is FALSE,” as reported by multiple European sites, including talkSPORT.

Yesterday, the British press reported that the Sevilla centre-back was set for Chelsea, with the two clubs agreeing on a £55m deal for the French star.

However, reports in Spain this morning have suggested Barca have hijacked the deal overnight and he is now set to for the Nou Camp.

“The INFORMATION about the transfer of KOUNDE to BARCA is TOTALLY FALSE. From SEVILLA they describe them as LIE,” El Chiringuito said.

Also, Mundo Deportivo reports that Sevilla have said they have had ‘zero contact’ from Barcelona for their player.

Football transfer expert, Fabrizio Romano, added, “Koundé has always been in talks with both Chelsea and Barça in the last 2 weeks;

“Barcelona proposal won’t match Chelsea conditions, “too high” – different structure;

“Chelsea sent official bid 3 days ago, still hoping for Sevilla green light.”
