Sandro Kopp is a visual artist from Germany and New Zealand based in Scotland. Kopp has been in a relationship with actress Tilda Swinton since 2004.

Tilda Swinton and her longtime partner Sandro Kopp, have been inseparable since they met on the set of “The Chronicles of Narnia: The Lion, the Witch, and the Wardrobe” in 2004.

The Daily Mail reports that Kopp moved in with Swinton in 2008, into the same house she shared with ex John Byrne. In fact, the couple shared a home with Byrne.

In 2014, Swinton told the outlet, “The father of my children and I are good friends and I’m now in a very happy other relationship,” referring to her and Kopp. She added: “It’s a very happy situation. Life doesn’t have to be complicated.”

Sandro Kopp’s work explores the intersection of classical painting and digital technology and deals with the concept of “mediated presence”

Kopp grew up in Germany and graduated with honors in Fine Art and English in 1998.
In 2000, he moved to New Zealand, his mother’s homeland, where he lived and studied in Wellington.

He has been based in Nairn, Scotland’s Highland region, since 2006, focusing on oil portraits of family and friends painted from Skype conversations.
