A piece of bizarre news has surfaced online, eliciting several reactions with many asking questions about the reality of a beauty pageant held in a correctional facility.

The alleged killer of SuperTV Ceo Michael Ataga, Chidinma Ojukwu was reported to have been crowned Miss Cell 2022 in her correctional facility.

According to reports, she bagged the crown at a beauty pageant that took place in Kirikiri Correctional Facility to commemorate 2022 International Women’s Day.

In the photos sighted by Ghgosisp, Chidinma was seen elegantly dressed with her sash around her shoulder. Popular Instagram blog, Instablog9ja shared the news on Instagram and Nigerians have gone gaga. See photos of her.

Could this be true? Do correctional facilities have fun? What would the family of Ataga feel when they see this? These are some of the questions seriously begging for answers as Nigerians react to the photos of the beauty pageant.

Some people noted that correctional facilities also hold social functions and allow inmates to have a similar life to the free one without borders. Others believe these kinds of ‘games’ is relatively not acceptable and are ridiculous to the families of the victims.

PressInformant culled some reactions from Nigerians below;

kingpexxie had this to say: Innocent Until proven otherwise… that’s the standards as it’s still “allegations”… so nothing stops her from being a beauty queen and being that’s not a ground for her to be alienated.. but being crowned “Miss cell”?? That’s another level of reaching… 😢

imperfectmultiples wrote; A prison is suppose to be rehabilitation center even criminals deserve social life and functions.

hillz_february commented; Chidinma committing murder doesn’t mean she can’t carry on with her life in prison for ever. Correctional facilities should be for reforming.
