Dancehall artiste Shatta Wale has begun a No Royalty No Music campaign calling on his colleagues to join him fight the royalty system in Ghana so they can be earning more.

As a member of GHAMRO, Shatta Wale is expected to receive over 30k as royalty for doing music for 15yrs and he believes the system could do more if things are putten in place and that is why he has begun the No Royalty No Music campaign.

According to him, not only radio stations but also pubs, hotels, clubs and all will be monetized if things are put in place with the support of the government and that will generate enough money for artists as royalty but then we sit and talk like we know all.

Adding that it doesn’t surprise him that we think the 30k given him is a big money but it’s a shame they don’t think like musicians here because if they register with these people as a force and go on demonstration that without Royalties there will be no music they will earn more as royalty.

Shatta Wale is right, if things are put in place and these radio stations and places where they play our artists’ songs are monetized, the money they will generate out of that as royalty is going to be more than enough, and their hard work will be worth it.
