Saoirse Ronan, Paul Mescal Sci-Fi Thriller ‘Foe’ Starts Production

Amazon Studios has formally began manufacturing on “Foe,” a sci-fi thriller bundle it acquired out of the Cannes Movie Pageant.

Led by Saoirse Ronan, Paul Mescal and Aaron Pierre, the story comes from director and co-writer Garth Davis (“Prime of the Lake,” the Oscar-nominated “Lion”). Davis and Iain Reid adapt the latter’s best-selling 2018 novel. Taking pictures is underway in Victoria, Australia.

Set within the close to future when company energy and environmental decay are ravaging the planet, “Foe” tells the story of Hen and Junior, a younger married couple residing a solitary life on their remoted farm. One evening, a knock on the door from a stranger named Terrance adjustments all the things: Junior has been randomly chosen to journey to a big, experimental area station orbiting Earth.
