Russia wants NATO forces to leave Romania, Bulgaria – foreign ministry

MOSCOW (Reuters) – The safety ensures that Russia seeks from the West embrace provisions requiring NATO forces to depart Romania and Bulgaria, the Russian overseas ministry stated on Friday.

Moscow has demanded legally binding ensures from NATO that the bloc will cease its enlargement and return to its 1997 borders.

Replying to a query about what that may imply for Bulgaria and Romania, which joined NATO after 1997, the ministry stated Russia wished all overseas troops, weapons and different navy {hardware} withdrawn from these international locations.
