Abia State Governor, Okezie Ikpeazu, has blamed the deplorable state of the roads in Abia on the actions of residents who get rid of scorching water on the roads.

He made this assertion throughout a radio interview, when he was requested why a few of the newly constructed roads within the state are in a deplorable state.

Ikpeazu mentioned; “The eye of the contractor has been drawn to that highway. However once more it goes again to the behaviour of the folks. Should you go to Milverton by 10:00 p.m. you may be shocked.

“Folks on Faulks Street, each Sunday within the morning, will boil water past 100 levels centigrade, that water they use to defeather birds and chickens. They pour that water on asphalt. It baffles me”.

A number of roads throughout the state, mentioned to have been newly constructed by the Ikpeazu administration since 2015, have been described as needing pressing repairs.
