Alex Iwobi was an unused substitute as Tottenham Hotspur thrashed
struggling Everton 5-0 in Monday’s Premier League fixture.

Everton, who have only won one of the five league matches since Frank Lampard took over at the end of January, are 17th, one point and one place above the relegation zone.

For Spurs they remain in seventh place, just three points behind fourth-placed Arsenal in the last of the Champions League qualifying spots.

Toffees defender Michael Keane gave Spurs the lead when he steered Ryan Sessegnon’s cross into his own net.

Son Heung-min doubled Tottenham’s advantage three minutes later with a strike that went in under the body of England goalkeeper Jordan Pickford.

Harry Kane added the third, Sergio Reguilon converted Dejan Kulusevski’s cross for the fourth before Kane volleyed in a fifth.

Kane goals were his 175th and 176th in the Premier League, taking him sixth in the competition’s all-time list, above legendary Arsenal striker Thierry Henry.

Recall that Iwobi will miss this month’s 2022 FIFA World Cup qualifiers with Ghana due to suspension.
