Peter Obi Joins Presidential Race For 2023 General Elections

Peter Obi, the former governor of Anambra State, announced his desire to run for President in 2023 on Thursday.

He made the announcement at a meeting of traditional rulers in Awka, Anambra State.

In the 2019 presidential election, Mr Obi was the running mate of former Vice President Atiku Abubakar.

Mr Obi was in attendance at a ceremony on Wednesday where Atiku proclaimed his desire to run for President again.

Mr Obi declared Atiku Abubakar “is my leader” and that “politics is not war” when asked why he was joining a prospective rival’s declaration event.

He said while declaring intent;

“The Nigeria I’ll lead will create jobs, boost our economy, improve education. If I’ve the opportunity, I’ll turn around the country for better
