Peter Stephen Paul Brook, born on 21 March 1925, was an English theatre and film director who was based in France from the early Nineteen Seventies on.

He gained varied Tony and Emmy Awards, a Laurence Olivier Award, the Japanese Praemium Imperiale, and the Prix Italia.

He was ceaselessly known as “our biggest residing theatre director”.

With the Royal Shakespeare Agency, Brook directed the initially English-language technology in 1964 of Marat/Sade by the German playwright Peter Weiss.

It transferred to Broadway in 1965 and received the Tony Award for Finest Carry out, and Brook was named Only Director.
